In 1956, General Motors filmed a woman dreaming about the future. We let her finish the dream.

Found footage collage #1. No words on screen, just three public-domain films cut up and piled like a 1999 web page. The voice is the GM film's own song: "I dreamt last night the moon was so bright it melted the wall away… Everyone says the future is strange, but I have a feeling some things won't change."

Watch where the fireworks go.

What you're looking at

A wordless 26.8 s collage (ART.md). A 1956 GM dreamer looks up at the moon; her dream fills with dream cars, crowds and a push-button kitchen, piled as OS windows on a magenta wallpaper of herself dancing; she pushes the button, the fireworks become an atomic bomb (Operation Cue, 1955); she ends up dancing on the real moon (Apollo 11, 1969) while the Earth rises, and the cursor closes the window on her, still asleep. White, loop.
